A vehicle equipped with All-wheel drive temporarily transfers power to all four driving wheels automatically when the need is sensed by the vehicle. A vehicle equipped with 4-wheel drive can transfer power from 2 wheels to all 4 wheels upon driver demand, usually by pushing a button or turning a switch. This type is also known as a 4x4.
Curb Weight is the weight of an empty vehicle (without payload or driver) with standard equipment, fuel, coolant, and oil. It is also known as the vehicle weight. Gross Vehicle Weight is the actual weight of the entire vehicle and its contents, including fuel and occupants.
GVWR, when properly equipped, includes weight of vehicle, passengers, cargo, and equipment. Exceeding this weight is not recommended.
Payload is the maximum allowable weight of cargo to be carried in a vehicle, including occupants. It is computed by subtracting curb weight from GVWR.
