BUILDING FOR AMERICA’S BRAVEST

They enlisted. Now it’s our turn to help give our wounded service members a house that truly feels and functions as a home.

A home is more than just a house – it’s a haven from the everyday world; a safe space for gathering close to friends and family. But, for too many men and women who proudly serve our country in the armed forces, the home they return to after deployment may not be the home they left behind.

Too many catastrophically injured service members return to homes that were never designed or built with their physical circumstances in mind, making everything from cooking dinner to unwinding with a good book or movie much more difficult.

After everything these brave men and women have been through, it shouldn’t be that way. And in partnership with Building for America’s Bravest, a proud program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, GMC is helping to assist these veterans transition back to civilian life and to regain their independence.

Since its inception in 2011, Building for America’s Bravest has focused on providing custom, professionally built smart homes tailored to severely injured veterans. As no two people are alike, neither is each home. In fact, every home built as part of this program is tailored to the specific needs of each recipient, and incorporates ingenious design and smart technologies designed to make life at home all that much easier.

22 of these specialized homes have been built over the past four years – but there’s still plenty of work left to do. Another 22 projects have been approved for construction, and hundreds of injured service members are still on the wait list for such a home.

That’s why we’ve enlisted to help unlist these heroes.

GMC is asking everyone – our dealers, employees, customers, enthusiasts, and beyond – to help Building for America’s Bravest continue providing much-needed smart homes. Learn how you can join us in spreading awareness and support for this program through the #enlistme campaign by visiting www.ourbravest.org/enlistme.
