Highest possible Front and Side impact safety rating (2008 Sierra 1500 models)†
†Five-star rating is for the driver and front passenger seating positions in the frontal crash test and for the front and rear seating positions in the side-impact crash test. Side-impact crash test rating is for models tested with and without optional Head Curtain side-impact air bags (SABs). Government star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA's) New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov).

Tire Pressure Monitoring.
The Tire Pressure Monitor alerts you when a significant reduction in pressure occurs in one or more of your vehicle's tires by illuminating the (low tire pressure) warning light on the instrument panel. The low-tire-pressure warning light will remain on until you correct the tire pressure.***
***Does not apply to spare tire.

Boxed from front to spare tire area, the new frame is stiff in beam and torsional strength for a smooth, safe ride.
StabiliTrak Stability Control System.
StabiliTrak compares steering input with vehicle response and adjusts when needed to help you keep on track and provide added safety.
When the vehicle is not adequately responding to steering input, StabiliTrak applies brake pressure to any individual wheel and may adjust engine speed to help you keep the vehicle on track and reduce the risk of vehicle rollover.§§
