PROTECTION PLAN

What makes a GMC Protection Plan different than a manufacturer’s limited warranty?

“Warranty,” “Vehicle Service Contract,” “Protection Plan,” and other similar terminology are often used interchangeably, but it’s important to know that they actually refer to different valuable coverages and benefits. GM’s Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty covers specified vehicle repairs, including parts and labor, to correct defects in materials or workmanship. The GMC Protection Plan provides additional protection on top of the manufacturer’s limited warranty for your GMC’s engine, steering, and more. Ask your dealer about additional details and pricing.

What is the benefit of purchasing a GMC Protection Plan?

A GMC Protection Plan is the only coverage endorsed by GMC and backed by General Motors. It gives you coverage you can count on, with additional benefits on the road so you can drive confidently.

Can I purchase a GMC Protection Plan on top of my manufacturer’s limited warranty?

Yes! It’s easy to add additional GMC-endorsed, GM-backed coverage on top of your existing manufacturer’s limited warranty. With three (3) coverage options, customizable contract terms and deductibles, and coverage on up to 1,500 parts, you can help protect yourself from unexpected and potentially costly repairs. Plan coverage runs concurrently with any applicable manufacturer warranties. For more details and pricing information, talk to your dealer.

How do I know which GMC Protection Plan is right for me?

Find the level of protection that fits your lifestyle with Powertrain, Silver, and Platinum coverage options. You can also choose the term and deductible that works for you. Platinum coverage terms are available for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The GMC Protection Plan covers up to 1,500 parts and components on your vehicle, depending on what plan you select. See your dealer for assistance in finding the right plan for you.

How do I purchase a GMC Protection Plan?

You can purchase a GMC Protection Plan, the only Protection Plan endorsed by GMC and backed by General Motors, at any participating dealer through their Finance & Insurance Office, either at the time of your vehicle purchase or within your manufacturer’s limited warranty period.

I didn’t purchase a Protection Plan at the time of my vehicle purchase. Is it too late?

GMC Protection Plans may be purchased after the time of vehicle sale if the vehicle is still within the manufacturer’s limited warranty period by at least 1,000 miles or 30 days prior to expiration, whichever comes first. Contact your selling dealer to discuss available plans, prices, and terms.

When does my GMC Protection contract begin and end?

The term covered by the GMC Protection Vehicle Service Contract begins on your contract purchase date and mileage (which may be subject to a waiting period) and ends at the mileage option you selected. This information can be found on your Vehicle Service Contract Agreement in the Protection Plan Agreement Information Section. Contact your selling dealer for questions regarding your plan and plan coverage.

What GMC Protection Plan coverage is available?

Choose from three (3) tiers of coverage, all endorsed by GMC and backed by General Motors. Platinum, Silver, and Powertrain plans offer terms up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and cover up to 1,500 parts and components. For more information on what’s covered under each plan, contact your nearest participating dealer.

Is there a Protection Plan specifically for my GMC electric vehicle?

The EV Protection Plan provides additional protection above the manufacturer’s limited warranty. Choose your deductible and coverage terms up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, on up to 1,500 parts. Contact your dealer to inquire about all GMC EV Protection Plans.
