2017 GMC CANYON, SIERRA WIN KELLEY BLUE BOOK BEST RESALE VALUE AWARDS

Things designed and built to a higher standard are often valued for a very long time – and that includes GMC’s line of professional grade pickup trucks.

A professional-grade tool is valued for years, long after it leaves the factory and finds a new home. The same can be said of a professional-grade pickup, as shown by both the GMC Sierra full-size pickup and GMC Canyon small pickup truck are in the top ten of Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Awards for 2017.

Kelley Blue Book’s annual Best Resale Value Awards recognize vehicles for having higher projected retained values than comparable vehicles in their class or segment.

“A vehicle’s resale value is of critical importance to customers, because a vehicle with high resale value will typically be less expensive to own over time than a similar vehicle with poorer resale value,” said Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com.

Resale values are based on projections published in the Kelley Blue Book Official Residual Value Guide, and reflect projected future auction values for vehicles with 75,000 miles at the end of a five-year lease or initial ownership period.

Both Canyon and Sierra offer a variety of distinctive appearance packages, premium content, and capable powertrains, allowing customers to find and tailor a truck that fits their particular need. Canyon is available with an upgraded 3.6-liter V-6, or an optional 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine, which offers both stout torque and an EPA estimated 30 mpg highway in two-wheel drive models. The Sierra 1500 continues to offer a bold, distinctive appearance, premium interior appointments, and advanced connectivity – especially in Sierra All Terrain and Sierra Denali models. Sierra HD models are now available with a thoroughly redesigned Duramax Diesel turbo-diesel V-8 engine, which offers an incredible 445 hp and 910 lb-ft of torque, along with other refinements designed to make trailering, hauling, and other tasks easier than before.
