REQUIREMENTS FOR BUSINESS TO KEEP IN MIND

The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) and Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of the Sierra Heavy Duty have increased for 2020. For small business and commercial buyers, this change has potential implications for registering your truck.

  • Trucks over 10,000 lbs GVWR require a Department of Transportation number
  • Drivers of trucks over 26,000 lbs GCWR also require a Commercial Driver’s License
Please contact the Department of Transportation and your local Department of Transportation to determine whether you may have additional registration or licensing requirements for these trucks.
