Linebacker James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week for games played on Nov. 27 - Dec. 1.
Harrison was selected from among five finalists by voters on NFL.com/gmc. The other finalists were defensive end Jared Allen of the Minnesota Vikings, defensive end Robert Mathis of the Indianapolis Colts, defensive end Justin Tuck of the New York Giants and linebacker DeMarcus Ware of the Dallas Cowboys.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/gmc throughout the month of January.
Allen made eight tackles and had three sacks as the Vikings defeated the Chicago Bears, 34-14, and took control of the NFC North.
In the Steelers' 33-10 win over the Patriots, Harrison led the defensive effort with nine tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles, both of which were recovered by Pittsburgh.
In the Colts' 10-6 win over the Browns, Mathis recovered a fumble and returned it 37 yards for the game's only touchdown. He also recorded two of Indianapolis' three sacks.
Tuck recorded six tackles and two sacks in the Giants' 23-7 win on the road over their NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins.
Ware recorded four tackles and sacked Seattle Seahawks' QB Matt Hasselback three times in the Cowboys' 34-9 Thanksgiving Day win over Seattle.
