SURROUNDED BY CONFIDENCE

FORWARD COLLISION ALERT

Uses forward-facing cameras and/or radar to detect the distance from the vehicle in front of you. Available Forward Collision Alert provides audible and visual signals if it appears a collision may be imminent. The system also warns you if you’re following a detected vehicle much too closely through a visual display in the Driver Information Center (DIC).

FORWARD AUTOMATIC BRAKING

Help reduce the severity of a crash on the road or avoid the crash altogether at very low speeds. With available Forward Automatic Braking, the system can detect that a front-end collision is imminent with a detected vehicle and alerts the driver. If the driver has not already applied the brakes, the system automatically applies the brakes for you.

FRONT PEDESTRIAN BRAKING

The available Front Pedestrian Braking system can help detect pedestrians in front of you. When a pedestrian is detected and the system detects that a collision is imminent, it alerts the driver and if necessary, automatically applies the brakes to help reduce the collision’s severity.

SAFETY ALERT SEAT

With pulsing driver seat vibrations to communicate the direction of a possible crash threat, the available Safety Alert Seat works with the other available safety and driver assistance features using ultrasonic camera and/or radar sensors equipped on the vehicle to detect a possible collision situation. The Safety Alert Seat pulses on the left, right or both sides of the seat to alert you in the direction of the possible danger.

AIRBAGS

Working with the safety belt system to help absorb the energy of a crash, driver and passenger front and side airbags help protect your head and body in high-risk crashes. Additional available driver knee airbags and inboard driver seat mounted center airbags help diminish the force of impact.

AUTOMATIC PARKING ASSIST

Available Automatic Parking Assist helps the driver parallel and perpendicular park by automatically steering the vehicle into a detected parking space while the driver follows text commands, selects gears, and does all the braking and accelerating.

FRONT AND REAR PARK ASSIST

With available Front and Rear Park Assist, when an object is detected, your front or rear speakers emit repeated beeping sounds that get shorter the closer you get to the object – helping you safely avoid it. Rear detection beeps are low-pitched and front detection beeps are high-pitched. If your vehicle is equipped with the available Safety Alert Seat, you will receive seat cushion vibrations instead.

REAR PARK ASSIST

Park with ease when available Rear Park Assist is activated. Your rear speakers will emit repeated beeping sounds when your vehicle detects objects up to 8 feet behind you. The closer you move toward the object, the spacing between beeps will get shorter, helping you avoid the collision while you park your vehicle.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT

If a vehicle is approaching from the left or right when you’re backing up, available Rear Cross Traffic Alert can signal you to a possible crash. When in reverse, sensors look for left or right cross traffic behind you. When detected, a red flashing triangle displays on the rear vision camera screen and points toward the approaching vehicle, along with audible beeps.

LANE KEEP ASSIST WITH LANE DEPARTURE WARNING

Avoid drifting out of your lane unintentionally. This is done using a camera that detects right and left lane markings. With available Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, if you drive over a detected lane marking without intentionally steering or using your turn signal, your vehicle will provide gentle steering wheel turns and lane departure warning alerts if necessary.

FOLLOWING DISTANCE INDICATOR

Keep your vehicle at a safe distance behind others on the road with available Following Distance Indicator. Using forward-facing cameras and/or radar sensors, this feature monitors vehicles you’re behind. When you’re between .5 and 2.5 seconds away from another detected vehicle, the following time will be displayed.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Available Adaptive Cruise Control enhances regular Cruise Control to allow the vehicle to automatically follow a detected vehicle ahead at the driver-selected following gap while the driver steers, reducing the need for the driver to frequently brake and accelerate.

ACTIVE TOW

Back up to hitch a trailer and keep an eye on the trailer when driving forward with available Active Tow. To help align the vehicle with the trailer, overlays on the rear vision camera screen show your vehicle’s trailer hitch. With our dynamic backing guideline, a visual will appear on your Color Touch Screen that helps guide you in the right direction when you’re in reverse.

TEEN DRIVER

Automatically activates certain safety systems, and allows parents to set limits on features such as speed and audio volume (where available). Available Teen Driver helps parents monitor their teens, as in-vehicle report cards provide information on driving behavior.

ONSTAR SAFETY & SECURITY

With available OnStar® by your side, you’ll feel confident and ready for the road ahead with available features such as Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Roadside Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Assistance.

1 Always use safety belts and the correct child restraints to your child’s age and size. Even in vehicles equipped with airbags and the Passenger Sensing System, children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate infant, child, or booster seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with an active frontal airbag. Airbag inflation can cause severe injury or death to anyone too close to the bag when it deploys. Be sure every occupant is properly restrained. See the Owner’s Manual and child safety seat instructions for more safety information.
