Q&A WITH L. RENEE

How does driving the GMC Sierra EV AT4 fit into your daily routine or weekend adventures?

The GMC Sierra EV AT4 is the ultimate adventure vehicle. As a pro adventure photographer and explorer, it’s got everything — extremely rugged while so comfortable! I don’t have to second guess about whether or not I can go somewhere. Every adventure is on the table. And I love how quickly it charges.* The range is incredible.*

How would you describe the experience driving the GMC Sierra EV AT4 in different environments?

Living in the San Francisco area, I’m constantly moving between environments— really tight city streets, long coastal highways and remote dirt roads in the mountains. The GMC Sierra EV AT4 feels equally at home in all of them. In the city, it’s quiet, smooth and incredibly nimble, but once you get outside the city and start heading into much more rugged terrain, it feels built for exploration. As an adventure photographer, I’m often chasing light in places where the road quality drops fast, and the truck just transitions seamlessly from urban to off-grid so smoothly.

What types of tasks or moments did it handle surprisingly well?

From snow to sand, it’s incredible. I split a lot of time between the mountains and coast. And it’s amazing. Also, what surprised me most was how well it handled long creative days in the field. As a photographer, I’m constantly carrying gear — cameras, tripods, climbing equipment — sometimes skis or camping gear. The truck helps make those transitions effortless. With its capacity, I can do really long trips with ease.

 

Secondly, there’s an available Wi-Fi®* function that’s pretty incredible. In so many places, I’m really remote. And that function has been amazing. I’m able to be off-grid and still not feel like I’m sacrificing work or the ability to tell loved ones that I’m OK. If I’m trying to figure out something on the fly, having the ability to research is handy.

How did the experience driving the GMC Sierra EV AT4 balance capability and luxury?

For me, the balance is what makes it special. I spend a lot of time driving to remote locations, but I also live in a city where comfort matters. The Sierra EV AT4 manages to feel rugged and capable while still being incredibly refined. After a long shoot day in the mountains or along the coast, getting back into a quiet, comfortable cabin makes the drive home feel like a reset. The available Bose* sound system is stellar.
