WHAT SETS GMC AT4X AEV EDITION TRUCKS APART?

GMC sets a high standard for off-road performance, but for adventurers who demand more, we teamed up with American Expedition Vehicles® (AEV) to push the boundaries even further. The GMC AT4X AEV Edition, available on Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500 HD and Canyon, elevates off-road performance with specialized equipment designed for the most challenging terrains.

GROUND CLEARANCE

The GMC AT4X AEV Edition offers more ground clearance than non-lifted 4WD models and AEV Salta wheels to give you confidence when navigating rocks, ruts and uneven surfaces.

Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

This model gets a boost to 11.4 inches of ground clearance, to help you clear most trail hazards.

Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition:

The heavy-duty GMC AEV truck boasts 11.8 inches of ground clearance. This extra height is critical for maneuvering over demanding terrain.

Canyon AT4X AEV Edition:

Though a mid-size truck, the Canyon AT4X AEV Edition has best-in-class* ground clearance of 12.2 inches, making it ready to tackle serious obstacles.

APPROACH, DEPARTURE AND BREAKOVER ANGLES

Aggressive approach, departure and breakover angles are essential for climbing steep inclines and descending without damaging the AEV-stamped front and rear steel bumpers.

Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

Features an improved front approach angle of 34 degrees (more than non-lifted 4WD models) and matching departure and breakover angles of 24.4 degrees

Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition:

This truck offers an approach angle of 29.8 degrees, a departure angle of 25.7 degrees and a breakover angle of 22.6 degrees. The AEV heavy-duty, stamped-steel, powder-coated front and rear bumpers offer added protection while conquering boulders and rough terrain.

Canyon AT4X AEV Edition:

Canyon boasts an impressive front approach angle of 38.2 degrees, a departure angle of 26.0 degrees and a breakover angle of 26.9 degrees, making it exceptionally capable on the most challenging trails.

SKID PLATE COVERAGE

When the trail gets tough, skid plates are essential. The GMC AT4X AEV Edition features hot-stamped boron steel AEV skid plates, which are more than 3.5 times stronger than equivalent cold-stamped steel. This rugged underbody protection helps protect critical components from rocks, stumps and other hazards.

Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

Five hot-stamped boron steel AEV skid plates provide protection for the front end, independent front suspension, transfer case, fuel tank and rear differential.

Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition:

Stamped-steel skid plates help keep vital components such as the steering gear and the transfer case protected from ruts, rocks and more.

Canyon AT4X AEV Edition:

Five AEV hot-stamped boron steel skid plates on the radiator, steering gear, transmission and transfer case, fuel tank and differential help protect Canyon from challenges on the trail.

ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

Power is at the heart of every GMC truck, and the AT4X AEV Editions are no exception. Each model is equipped with a powerful engine designed to deliver the torque and horsepower needed for off-road dominance.

Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

Powered by a standard Duramax® 3.0L Turbo diesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft. of torque or an available 6.2L V8 engine that produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, providing robust power for any situation.

Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition:

Equipped with a standard 6.6L V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque or an available Duramax® 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine that delivers 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft. of torque, this truck is built for heavy-duty tasks and relentless low-end torque on the trail.

Canyon AT4X AEV Edition:

The standard TurboMax® engine delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft. of best-in-class* standard gas engine torque.

TOWING CAPACITY

While built for the trail, these AEV trucks don’t sacrifice the utility that GMC is known for. Their towing capabilities ensure you can bring your gear, campers or trailers along for the adventure.

Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV Edition:

Capable of towing up to 8,700 lbs.,* making it a versatile choice for hauling recreational equipment.

Sierra 2500 HD AT4X AEV Edition:

This heavy-duty truck offers a substantial towing capacity of up to 18,400 lbs.,* perfect for large trailers and campers.

Canyon AT4X AEV Edition:

This off-road-capable mid-size truck offers up to 5,500 lbs.* of towing capability to haul ATVs, a boat or other equipment.
