One such technology is the available transparent trailer view^†. This industry-first technology is available with a class-leading up to 15 camera views^† on the 2020 and 2021 Sierra Heavy Duty and Sierra 1500. These camera views are accessed through the GMC Infotainment System^† and help optimize the driver’s view around the truck and compatible trailer.

What makes transparent trailer view unique, however, is it allows the driver to virtually “see through” the trailer. This helps you see traffic behind the trailer when it is being pulled in alignment with the truck. It can help drivers navigate parking lots, merge into traffic or make tight turns.  

In order to use Transparent Trailer, an available customer-installed General Motors accessory camera, must be mounted on the rear of the trailer. This requires customers to follow specific installation instructions for the GM accessory camera (which has its own instructions) to ensure the feature operates properly.
