HOW CAN I FIND CHARGING STATIONS IN MY LOCAL AREA?

The availability of public charging has increased substantially over the past few years. GMC HUMMER EV works with the available myGMC Mobile App with Energy Assist features (active service plan required) allows you the access to the following functionality:

See your range at a glance
Find chargers and see their availability in real-time
Start a charging session at select charging networks within the myGMC Mobile App
Intelligently plan your routes with the optimal charging stops along the way
Energy Assist features are available through phone projection via Apple CarPlay®* and Android Auto*

WHAT TYPE OF CHARGING CORD COMES STANDARD WITH THE VEHICLE?

It will offer a dual level charge cord that is capable of charging either Level 1 (120v) or a Level 2 7.6kW charger (240v). Note: Level 2 home charging requires professional installation.

WHERE CAN I CHARGE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

For the average commuter, the vast majority of charging happens at home (overnight, similar to your smartphones). For the times when you need to charge outside of the home, there are currently about 70,000 public charging outlets in the US and this number is growing every day.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO MY HOUSE TO BE READY FOR OWNING AN EV?

In order to charge an EV, you simply need access to a household outlet (120 Volt, 3 prong). If you wish to charge at faster speeds you may consider upgrading to a Level 2 charging station. Note: Level 2 home charging requires professional installation.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER BENEFITS OF OWNING AN EV?

EV propulsion can be nearly silent and EVs can offer attractive performance attributes (e.g., acceleration and handling). Additionally, EVs benefit from potentially reduced operating costs. There may also be federal, state, and local EV incentives available. Finally, EV customers may benefit from HOV lane access in many parts of the country.
