EFFICENT AND DURABLE
When it came to adding even more functionality to the MultiPro Tailgate, GMC and KICKER wanted to make sure the design and capability of the sound system had the customer in mind.
To begin with, it operates entirely independent of the Sierra’s infotainment system within the cabin of the truck, allowing owners to play audio without leaving their key in the ignition and their windows down.
As for taking on the demands of being integrated into the tailgate of a pickup truck box, GMC and KICKER thought of that too. With an expertise in designing audio components and speakers for boats, ATVs, motorcycles and other vehicles that are exposed to harsh elements and off-road conditions, the sound system’s components have gone through durability testing and validation. The system features a weatherproof amplifier and speakers, an ABS custom baffle that is fully gasketed to protect against moisture and dirt, as well as a weather-resistant wiring harness, connectors and plugs.
TURN IT ON, TURN IT UP
Easy to start and use, the MultiPro Tailgate’s sound system delivers a simple way for truck owners to experience great audio without any hassles.
The screen of the tailgate remote lights up and the system automatically turns on when the MultiPro Tailgate is brought to its full-width step position. Users can then select between three options to connect a compatible device by pushing the power button. The options are:
BLUETOOTH: Connect a smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth® enabled devices wirelessly by selecting KICKER from the device’s settings. Once connected, the Bluetooth signal offers a range of about 100 feet, so users can walk around the surrounding area without interruption.
USB: Capable of playing WMA and MP3 files from a compatible storage device, simply select USB on the tailgate remote. The USB™ port can also serve as a charger for a compatible smartphone, even while using the Bluetooth or the AUX port.
AUX: To connect to this port, you will need an AUX cord. This option allows you to connect a number of compatible devices, including a television, microphone or portable CD player.
ACCESS PREMIUM PROGRAMMING
Another great way to enjoy the functionality of the tailgate’s sound system is through
Truck owners who have a subscription and a smartphone or tablet can stream any available station of their choice using a Bluetooth signal. All users have to do before connecting is download the SiriusXM Satellite Radio app onto their smartphone or tablet, select Bluetooth on the sound system’s remote and then connect their device.
