With a peak elevation just shy of 12,000 feet, it’s hard for anything to tower over the slopes of Vail Mountain in Colorado – but later this fall, one GMC will do exactly that: the GMC Sierra 2500 Denali HD All Mountain concept truck.

The Denali All Mountain concept, which will go on display at Vail later this year, celebrates GMC’s new partnership with Vail Resorts. All Mountain builds off Sierra Denali HD’s proven capability and takes it to a new level.

Denali All Mountain accentuates the Sierra Denali HD’s strong, chiseled exterior design language with bold, distinctive graphics, inspired by both the mountainous terrain found at many Vail Resorts’ destinations, along with the GMC brand’s identity and heritage. All Mountain also incorporates a number of customized touches, including bespoke LED accessory lighting, and a customized KICKER amplifier and audio system integrated into the exterior sport bar.

Sierra Denali HD already delivers unrivaled capability, but the Denali All Mountain goes a step further with a full set of customized tracks from Mattracks. Designed to function much like the tracks found on a bulldozer or a snow grooming machine, these tracks provide both additional ground clearance and increased flotation – the latter is crucial when operating over dirt, mud, or deep banks of powdery snow.^†

No less extreme is the powertrain found underhood. Sierra Denali All Mountain utilizes the new 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel turbo-diesel V-8, which is available across the Sierra HD range. This all-new engine design provides both 445 horsepower and an immense 910 lb-ft of torque, providing the sort of low-end torque that makes easy work out of moving heavy payloads or large trailers.

Likewise, many of the functional and decorative accessories found on the All Mountain are also offered as official GMC Accessories and can be installed on a new Sierra HD by any GMC dealer.^†

A similar All Mountain vehicle, based upon the Sierra HD All Terrain X, will also be on display at the 2017 Los Angeles auto show in late November.
