But the available ProGrade^™ Trailering System^† brings a smart approach to putting your pickup to work. This intelligent system features trailering technologies to streamline the hitching and towing process, with integrated tools to help drivers take command.

ProGrade Trailering System includes:

●    In-Vehicle Trailering App^†: Accessible through the GMC Infotainment System^†, the app includes features such as predeparture checklists, trailer light test, customizable trailer profiles, Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring^† and theft alert^†.

●    myGMC Mobile App^†:  Truck owners can use a compatible smartphone as part of the trailering process with functions that include creating trailer profiles, trailer light test, predeparture checklists, trailer load calculator and alerts for key trailer components (tire pressure, trailer miles, etc.).

●    Smart Trailer: Control select smart features of a recreational trailer equipped with ASA Electronics’ IN-Command^® Control System^† with Global Connect^®. •    Hitch Guidance with Hitch View^† displays a guideline on the Rear Vision Camera view when you’re in Reverse to help line up your hitch to your trailer and offers a close-up Hitch View. When driving, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View allows you to briefly check your trailer using the Rear Vision Camera view.

•    Bed View with Zoom and Hitch Guidance^† provides a close-up view of the receiver hitch for proper alignment when connecting to a compatible trailer with a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer hitch. The view includes Hitch Guidance Lines to assist when backing the trailer into place and a trailer-angle indicator to show the relationship between the truck and trailer.

•    Standard Rear Camera View^† with available guidelines.

•    Front Camera View^† with available guidelines.

•    Surround View^† gives a top down bird's-eye view of truck’s surroundings.

•    Front Top-Down View^† provides a top-down view of your hood, bumper and front tires for precise maneuvering, especially when parking next to curbs.

•    Rear Top-Down View^† shows the clearance between the truck bed and nearby objects.

•    Bowl View^† provides a rear-facing 3D surround view, giving you a sense of the height of objects surrounding the vehicle, useful for low-speed maneuvers while backing up.

•    Front Side View^† shows the position of the front tires when parking or maneuvering in tight spaces.

•    Rear Side View^† provides a split view of the left and right sides of the truck and trailer that is automatically biased based on the trailer’s angle. In the 2021 GMC Sierra, drivers will now have access to this view while driving in Reverse, making it easier to see surrounding vehicles and objects while positioning a trailer.

•    Rear Trailer View^† features guidelines to assist when backing a trailer into place, and a trailer-angle indicator to show the relationship between the truck and trailer. Rear trailer view requires the customer-installed available GM auxiliary accessory camera.

•    Inside Trailer View^† lets the driver monitor trailer contents or cargo using an auxiliary accessory camera (customer installed) that can be mounted within the trailer.

•    Picture-in-Picture Side View^† combines the rear side view with the rear trailer accessory camera view.

•    Rear Camera Mirror^† is a dual-function mirror that can be used as a conventional rearview mirror or as a camera-based rearview mirror to help drivers see around potential view obstructions. Compared with a traditional inside rearview mirror, this rearview mirror display provides a wider, less obstructed field of view to assist when driving, changing lanes, and checking for vehicles and traffic conditions. It offers zoom and vertical tilt driver adjustments.

In addition, Sierra 1500 and Sierra Heavy Duty have enhanced available features such as:

•    Jack-Knife Alert^† tracks the position of the compatible trailer in relation to the vehicle. If the front of the trailer approaches the rear of the vehicle, an alert is displayed when there may be a potential jack-knife situation.

•    Trailer Length Indicator^†, when enabled and driving forward with the turn signal activated, the center console screen displays a red overlay twice the length of the compatible trailer and shows when other vehicles are present and may interfere with a lane-change maneuver.
