DUAL LEVEL CHARGE CORD – QUICK START
The Dual Level Charge Cord allows you to easily swap between standard 120-volt (3-pronged) and larger 240-volt (4-pronged) plugs to fit your available electrical outlet. (For reference, the 240-volt plug is a NEMA 14-50, similar to what is used with an electric range/oven.) In this way, the Dual Level Charge Cord supports charging at two levels: Level 1 charging† (up to 1.4 kW) and Level 2 charging (up to 7.7 kW), comparable to public AC charging stations.
To use the Dual Level Charge Cord:
- Identify the type of outlet (either 3-pronged or 4-pronged) you will be using to charge.
- Snap the corresponding plug into the end of the control box, seating it fully and snugly. The control box has a 22' cord and coupler attached to its other end for connecting to your vehicle’s charging port.
- Once plugged in to an electrical outlet, the control box will perform a short boot-up routine. After that, it will be ready to charge your vehicle.
Note: Do not use adapters or extension cords of any kind with the Dual Level Charge Cord. If you are unsure whether your home can support 240V charging, consult with a professional electrician.
