HOW TO USE EXTRACT MODE

INCREASE VEHICLE HEIGHT TO OVERCOME TOUGH OBSTACLES IN EXTREME OFF-ROADING CONDITIONS

Extract Mode* uses the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension to raise your vehicle up to nearly six inches above Normal Mode height. This is designed to help you clear obstacles when off-roading.

You can only engage Extract Mode when your vehicle is set to Terrain Mode using Drive Mode Control.

It is recommended you only use this mode in extreme off-roading situations. Extract Mode limits your vehicle to a slow “crawl” speed.

Extract Mode also limits the torque that can be sent to each axle. Keep this in mind as you maneuver in the mode.

HOW TO USE EXTRACT MODE

On the Driver Mode Control dial located behind the shifter, you’ll see two Ride Height Control buttons. When you press either of these buttons, the Ride Height menu will open on your center display.

The button on top of the dial (that looks like a vehicle with an arrow pointing up in the middle of it) lets you raise the vehicle when you’re in this menu. The button on the bottom (that looks like a vehicle with an arrow facing down below it) lets you lower the vehicle.

Need Alt Text
  1. To activate Extract Mode, select Terrain Mode using the Drive Mode Control rotational dial.
  2. Then, press the top button until you see Extract Mode activate in the Ride Height menu. If you are starting at Normal Mode height, you will need to press the button several times.
  3. To disengage Extract Mode, press the bottom button on the Drive Mode Control dial to lower your vehicle.
  4. When you pick a ride height and your vehicle begins to raise or lower, a green icon will flash in your Driver Information Center (DIC) with an arrow that shows whether your vehicle is raising or lowering. It may take a short time for your vehicle to fully raise or lower.

THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN USING EXTRACT MODE

  • When you enter Extract Mode, your vehicle will rise to the maximum height possible while still helping protect  the suspension from damage. It may not reach full Extract Mode height.
  • To help provide the most seamless transition in ride height, enter Extract Mode while the vehicle is moving slowly straight ahead.

Q&As

Why is it taking so long for my vehicle to raise/lower?

Extract Mode and Ride Height Control use air springs that fill with and release air to raise and lower the vehicle. The system uses an air compressor to pump air in and out of the springs and refill the vehicle’s air tank. Some noise from the air compressor is expected during use.

Frequent raising and lowering can deplete the air tank. The system will still function as normal when the tank is depleted but raising and lowering may be slower than usual until it refills. This will happen automatically.

Intense use can overheat the air compressor that helps raise and lower your vehicle. If it overheats, you may not be able to raise or lower your vehicle until it cools down. The system can take up to 15 minutes to cool down depending on driving conditions.
