HOW TO USE IN-VEHICLE ACCESS TO CONTACTS
Difficulty Level: Novice | Time Required: Five Minutes | Tools Required: None | Related Parts, Products, Services or Technology: Bluetooth-compatible smartphone
If your vehicle is equipped with Bluetooth®,† you have access to the contacts stored in your phone’s contact list when your phone is paired to your vehicle’s infotainment system† or when you are using Phone Integration (Apple CarPlay®† or Android Auto™† compatibility).
- For Apple®† devices, your contact list downloads and synchronizes automatically each time you turn on your vehicle
- For Android™† devices, you will be asked for permission to access contacts before they can be downloaded
Note: To protect user privacy, the contacts information is only available when your phone is connected and selected as the in-use device.
- You can access your contacts with voice command in the vehicle if your vehicle and phone are equipped with voice-command features
- If using Apple CarPlay®, access Apple Siri® voice-command features by pressing the vehicle’s Push-to-Talk button

The process for saving a favorite contact depends on your vehicle. On some models, you can touch the Star icon behind the phone number in your contacts list. On other models, you can press and hold an empty favorite space in the bar at the top of the screen.
