ADVENTURE UNBOUND: EXPLORING WYOMING WITH THE GMC SIERRA 1500 AT4 CARBONPRO™ EDITION

With its arid desert landscapes and vast forests, Wyoming is a prime destination to seek outdoor experiences that invigorate the spirit.

It’s also an ideal countryside for the off-road-capable 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition. From its rugged and highly functional exterior to the premium comfort of its interior, this truck is designed and built for those who want to explore.

Here are just a few examples of how the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition can heighten your adventure, whether it’s camping under the stars or heading out on the trails.

OFF-ROAD CAPABILITY

When you’re looking to unplug and get away, the tranquil beauty of Wyoming offers breathtaking natural surroundings to help you reconnect and recharge. Part of this splendor is because the Cowboy State is where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains, making for a very diverse topographical region.

This characteristic opens a wide number of ways in which you can retreat into the wild, from rock climbing to fishing in one of Wyoming’s 4,200 lakes or 27,000 miles of rivers and streams.

But going where the pavement ends to immerse yourself in Wyoming’s rugged natural beauty takes gritty capability to handle the rocky trails and undulating terrain. So, when the going gets tough, the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition allows you the ability to go off road with confidence.

Since it’s purpose-built for adventure, this truck comes standard with four-wheel drive and a 2-speed AutoTrac transfer case that includes low-range four-wheel-drive gearing for non-paved terrain. It also has Hill Descent Control, which leverages anti-lock braking technology to help provide a smooth, controlled descent in rough terrain.

The available Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel I-6 engine, meanwhile, gives you outstanding fuel efficiency without compromising its capability. With up to an EPA-estimated 30 MPG highway, this diesel delivers a powerful 460 lb.-ft. of torque and best-in-class 277 diesel horsepower.

But what makes this engine such a great powertrain for off-road adventurers is its powerful torque even at low rpm. The Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel reaches 95 percent peak torque at a low 1250 rpm and full torque at 1500–3000 rpm. This gives you excellent power and momentum without exerting the engine while taking on trails or roads in hilly or mountainous regions.

Another added feature is the Traction Select System, which allows drivers to select from preset drive modes that help tailor the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition’s performance to a variety of roads, terrain or weather conditions. This is in addition to the automatic locking rear differential that helps you in situations where traction is low. The exclusive 18-inch wheels are also available with mud-terrain Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® tires for added off-road traction.

And if you’re worried about the need to ride tall when you’re going off the grid, that’s no problem for the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition either. The 2-inch factory-installed lift with off-road suspension gives you additional clearance, while the Rancho® monotube shock absorbers are tuned to help give you a smooth ride experience.

CARBONPRO BED

Because of its varied terrain, off-road riding in Wyoming gives you the exhilarating experience of the mountains and deserts. Another added benefit is that the off-road and ATV season typically lasts from April through December.

And with the Wyoming Trails Program, off-road vehicle and ATV enthusiasts have over 640 miles of trails within state parks, national forests and other public lands to enjoy.

But keeping a truck bed looking its best can sometimes be a challenge when you’re hauling an ATV or other off-road vehicles. That’s where the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition gives you excellent bed durability without needing a spray-in cargo liner.

The CarbonPro™ carbon-fiber composite bed is the first application of its kind. Its carbon-fiber composite material provides excellent scratch, dent and corrosion resistance. Plus, the CarbonPro bed increases the already generous cargo volume of the Sierra’s steel bed by 1 cubic foot. And if that isn’t enough, it has three molded-in sections that are specifically designed for the tires of dirt and street bikes. There are also two additional tie-down locations at the front of the bed to help secure items.

And getting in and out of the bed, as well as cleaning it up, has been made easier. The grained corrugation gives optimal traction, with more aggressive graining at the tops of the corrugation to help increase traction in wet weather. A smoother grain can be found at the bottoms of the corrugation for easy removal of dirt and debris.

Plus, the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition is further enhanced by featuring the MultiPro™ Tailgate, a six-function tailgate that can be configured into positions like a bed extender or an entry step.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Just because you want to get away doesn’t mean technology can’t be used to help reduce hassles and keep you exploring the backcountry.

And with the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition, there’s a host of impressive features that give you a significant advantage when you’re ready to venture out and enjoy the fresh air.

To start, the available first-in-class 15-inch diagonal Head-Up Display shows customizable information low on the windshield. This data can include an Off-Road Inclinometer that shows the fore-and-aft tilt, front tire angle, left-and-right tilt, and more.

The class-leading available up-to-15 camera views are especially useful when pulling a camper or trailer, or navigating tight trails.

And if you want to listen to your favorite mix while enjoying the outdoors, the MultiPro Tailgate comes equipped with an audio system integrated into the inner gate panel. The MultiPro Tailgate Audio System has two 4” coaxial drivers, a compact amplifier and controls, as well as a port for a USB and AUX cord, and full Bluetooth® streaming capability.

ADVENTURE AWAITS

With Wyoming, you’re never too far from that next adventure.

So when you’re driven to explore, a Professional Grade off-road machine like the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro Edition will help you take in the sights, sounds and smells of the great outdoors.
