FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT COVERAGE LEVELS DOES THE PROTECTION SERVICE CONTRACT OFFER?

There are two levels of coverage offered through the Protection Service Contract: Silver and Platinum. Silver provides basic component coverage, while Platinum covers most mechanical and electrical components on your GMC. There are a number of time and mileage options from which to choose. For more information, see your GMC F&I Sales Representative.

WHERE SHOULD I GET MY GMC REPAIRED?

During the term covered by your service contract, you may have covered repairs completed at any participating dealer.

WHAT DEDUCTIBLE LEVELS ARE AVAILABLE?

Deductible levels include $0, $100, and the Disappearing Deductible feature.

WHAT IS A DISAPPEARING DEDUCTIBLE AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Disappearing Deductible feature provides the ability to waive the $100 deductible when you return to the dealership where you purchased the plan for a repair covered under the plan. If you go to another dealership for a covered repair, you will have to pay the $100 deductible.

WHAT IS THE COMMERCIAL-USE SURCHARGE?

The Commercial-use surcharge provides your vehicle with coverage if you intend to use your GMC vehicle for activities such as jobsite activities, delivery of goods, service or repair work, farming, ranching, route work, or snow removal. The Commercial-Use Surcharge is paid at the time of contract purchase.

DOES THE COMMERCIAL-USE SURCHARGE EXCLUDE ANY GMC VEHICLES?

Yes, it excludes vehicles that are being or will be used for the following commercial uses: taxi, rental, limousine or shuttle service, towing/wrecker service, police or emergency service, dumping (dump beds), cherry pickers, lifting or hoisting, principally off-road, or prearranged or organized racing or competitive driving.

IS COVERAGE UNDER THE PROTECTION SERVICE CONTRACT TRANSFERRABLE TO A SUBSEQUENT OWNER?

Should you sell your covered GMC to another individual, any remaining coverage under the Protection Service Contract may be transferred to the new owner prior to the service contract’s expiration date.  Within 30 days of the transfer of ownership, you must send the completed Transfer Request form and pay any applicable fee to the administrator.

FOR USED GMC VEHICLES, WHEN DOES THE PROTECTION SERVICE CONTRACT OR TERM OF THE CONTRACT START AND END?

The term covered by the Protection Service Contract begins on the contract purchase date and mileage at that time (may be subject to a waiting period; see your F&I Sales Representative for details). The coverage term runs to your purchased time and mileage option, whichever comes first.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT TIME AND MILEAGE OPTIONS FOR NEW AND USED VEHICLES COVERED UNDER GMC PLATINUM WRAP COVERAGE?

Yes, the term for Platinum Wrap Coverage is based on the vehicle you purchase. Ask your F&I Sales Representative for details.

CAN I PURCHASE PLATINUM WRAP COVERAGE AT ANY TIME WHILE I OWN MY GMC?

Platinum Wrap Coverage must be purchased at the time of your new or used vehicle purchase, and the vehicle must be within the Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty period.

DOES THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT COVERAGE INCLUDE ITEMS SUCH AS ONSTAR, FACTORY NAVIGATION SYSTEMS, AND FACTORY-INSTALLED VIDEO COMPONENTS?

Yes, these factory-installed components are covered under the Platinum Service Contract.

WHAT COMPONENTS DOES THE PLATINUM PROTECTION SERVICE CONTRACT COVER?
