NEXT GENERATION YUKON CREATES WORLD’S BIGGEST TWEET

The larger-than-life Next Generation Yukon is a big deal. With Professional Grade capability, available innovative technology and premium accommodations, it deserves a sizable introduction. So we set off to launch GMC’s flagship full-size SUV in a never-before-done, larger-than-life way––letting Yukon create the World’s Biggest Tweet.

The mission at hand was certainly no small feat. But the Next Generation Yukon is made to live big. As the boldest and most innovative GMC Yukon ever, it is truly premium that’s made to be used. It is fully-equipped with available features such as the all-new Active Response 4WDTM system, best-in-class horsepower, class-leading up to nine camera views, a class-leading 15" diagonal Head-Up Display and more.

Before we get deeper into details, a couple of acknowledgments: do not attempt to create the World’s Biggest Tweet on your own, as we had professional drivers on a closed course and the vehicle was modified with traction devices.

After weeks of preparation, scouting, logistical planning and testing, the perfect location was selected: Delamar Dry Lake, a huge dry lake bed in Nevada. This was the blank canvas that the Next Generation Yukon Denali and First Ever Yukon AT4 would use to create the real-life tweet.

Creating the World’s Biggest Tweet takes massive planning. More than 2,500 color-coded stakes were meticulously placed by hand into the ground, along with 110,000 feet of rope line to help guide our precision drivers ––since GPS was unable to provide the level of accuracy this task demanded. Not being able to erase any wrong tire marks also required intensive meetings with our precision drivers, including the planning of their “always driving forward” choreography. Because of the massive scale of the World’s Biggest Tweet, the only way to capture it in its entirety was by helicopter––at just above 12,000 feet.

And with only one chance to get it right, off they go ...

Extreme care was taken to protect local wildlife and the environment during every step of the process. Upon completion, the land was restored to the way we found it. Yes, that’s right––at the end of the day, we deleted our tweet.
