GMC LIFE

INTRODUCING GMC MARKETPLACE

Owners with 2017 or newer GMC vehicles can now order and pay for coffee from the dash, purchase fuel without leaving the vehicle or swiping a credit card, make dinner reservations on-the go, book a hotel, and more – all from the comfort of their vehicle.

GMC knows in-vehicle connectivity is incredibly important to our owners – especially when it comes to connecting with preferred brands, services, and products. That’s why we’ve created Marketplace.

GMC Marketplace opens new possibilities for owners to make every drive more productive and rewarding. Now, GMC owners can order and pay for coffee from the dash, purchase fuel without leaving the vehicle or swiping a credit card, make dinner reservations on-the go, book a hotel, and more – all from the comfort of their vehicle.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITHIN MARKETPLACE?

Available in most GMC trucks and SUVs model year 2017 and newer, Marketplace provides a platform for on-demand purchases and reservations. Marketplace enables drivers to perform a variety of activities with a few simple taps on the dash, including:

  • Ordering coffee or breakfast from Dunkin’ Donuts®
  • Placing a take-out order from restaurants like Applebee’s, IHOP®, or Wingstop®, or through Delivery.com
  • Activating the pump and paying for fuel from the vehicle at participating Shell, Exxon, and Mobil stations
  • Making dinner reservations at nearby restaurants through Yelp Reservations
  • Finding and reserving parking through Parkopedia®
  • Finding nearby hotels and make a reservation through Priceline.com®
  • Redeeming vehicle-specific offers for GMC Certified Service or GMC Accessories
  • Verifying online orders at Office Depot® are ready for pickup
  • Discovering other relevant, timely offers for nearby merchants

GMC is continually working to add more brands and merchants to Marketplace, so stay tuned for new services and features in the near future.

After pressing the “Get Started” button on the Marketplace welcome screen, you’ll be presented with the terms and conditions of the application. If you accept, select the check boxes next to ‘Accept’ and then tap the ‘Continue’ button.

You will then be asked to enable in-vehicle notifications for when orders are placed, and payments are processed. Your preferences can always be changed through the “Settings” screen within the Marketplace app at a later date.

Next, you will be prompted to provide an email address. Providing an email address allows you to link merchants within Marketplace to your vehicle (see more below,) as well as redeem any mobile offers you request. To keep things simple, if you already have an active GMC Connected Services, GMC Owner Center, or OnStar account, use the same email address provided for those accounts.

GETTING STARTED WITH MARKETPLACE
Once you’ve completed the initial set up, you’ll be presented with the Marketplace home screen. Along with featured content, a navigation bar along the bottom provides easy access to additional content via categories, such as Order Food, Fuel Up, Find & Reserve, Featured, and more.

Be sure to explore all the different interactions and transactions available from your favorite brands. And remember, Marketplace presents content based on your current location—so there’s always something new to discover.

LINKING MERCHANT ACCOUNTS

When you first tap a brand within Marketplace that supports transactions, you’ll need to link that brand/merchant to Marketplace. With the push of a button, you can receive an email with instructions and a link, which allows you to either create a new account or link an existing account with that particular brand.

Creating or linking an account–and, when necessary, establishing a method of payment–cannot be performed within the in-vehicle Marketplace app; it must be completed on a mobile device, tablet, or computer.

After creating or linking an account, you can quickly and easily connect with the merchant through Marketplace and complete any available transactions or interactions right from your GMC’s in-dash app.
