ROAD TRIP LIKE A PRO WITH GMC PICKUPS AND SUVS

SHARE:

Nothing compares to a long road trip to invigorate the spirit and instill a deep sense of freedom.

It offers a chance to experience new foods, meet new people and see sights beyond the familiar.

But while packing and picking the best route are important, perhaps more important is having a vehicle to elevate the road trip experience. That’s where GMC trucks and SUVs come in. The bold-looking exteriors, comfortable interiors and powerful capability are bound to make a lasting impression wherever you go. However, GMC vehicles also have standard or available technologies to improve the driving experience and help stay connected.

Here are just some of the available technologies that can serve as a serious upgrade to your next road trip.

MUST-HAVE APPS

Proper planning for an extended road trip is a must.

From making hotel reservations to clearing your fridge of perishables, preparation plays a key part in keeping you focused on fun. And with GMC pickups and SUVs, drivers can take advantage of innovative in-vehicle apps to help bring ease and save time.

Say you want to turn a porch light on for a neighbor who’s coming over to water the houseplants or drop off the mail. With available Alexa Built-In, drivers can access compatible smart home devices in model year 2018 and newer GMC vehicles with a compatible infotainment system.

Simply link an Amazon account to begin using Alexa Built-In through the GMC Infotainment System, while keeping your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Once linked, drivers can access several skills and features. This can include streaming media for the trip, obtaining directions to a point of interest or specific address, making hands-free phone calls or adjusting a home’s heat or air conditioning for your return.

Another convenience is the all-new GMC Maps+, which provides navigation assistance with the voice-command functionality of Alexa Built-In. Maps+ is available for select 2018 and newer GMC pickups and SUVs with compatible infotainment systems.

This fully embedded navigation tool not only gives turn-by-turn directions, but drivers can enjoy music or podcasts in a single and simple screen. This helps streamline the way you can interact with the GMC Infotainment System. And there’s no need to use a cord or smartphone because it’s entirely built in.

CONFIDENCE AND CONVENIENCE

The available camera technologies for GMC pickup trucks can help make scenarios like towing a camper or navigating a tight parking spot a breeze.

For example, the 2021 Sierra Heavy Duty and Sierra 1500 offer up to 15 different class-leading available camera views. These views include High Definition Surround Vision, Transparent Trailer, Rear Camera Mirror and Bed View Camera. These camera views can help drivers with multiple views and monitoring a truck and trailer while out on the road.

Sierra Heavy Duty and Sierra 1500 also have the available Smart Trailer technology. This innovative feature allows drivers to interact with RVs featuring ASA Electronics’ iN•Command® Control System with Global Connect®. Remote commands can be made from the inside of the cabin or with a compatible smartphone. So drivers and passengers alike can enjoy conveniences like prepping a water heater for a hot shower or an air conditioner to cool off the RV’s interior.

ON-THE-GO ENTERTAINMENT

While drivers need to keep their focus on the road and hands on the wheel, having entertainment can help pass the time for passengers.

One option is WarnerMedia RIDE™†, which gives access to more than 1,000 hours of live and on-demand movies and TV shows. It comes at no additional cost to the unlimited data plan and programming can be viewed from a compatible device connected to a vehicle’s Wi-Fi®† Hotspot. Enjoy a rotating selection of fresh and exciting content from top channels and services including Cartoon Network™, CNN®, HBO Max™, TruTV™ and more.

Another way for passengers to stay entertained is with the available Rear-Seat Media System for the SLT, AT4 and Denali trim levels for the 2021 Yukon and Yukon XL. This advanced media system features two class-leading, 12.6-inch LCD touch screens mounted on the back of the front seats. Passengers in the second and third rows can enjoy the media or entertainment by connecting their own compatible streaming device, game console, tablet or smartphone via USB or HDMI ports.

The high-resolution touch screens are also adjustable for better visibility and can be customized for independent viewing. Rear seat passengers can even send navigation information to the center front infotainment screen, allowing the driver to stay focused on the road.

A PERFECT GETAWAY

When the open road calls, there’s no better answer than a GMC pickup truck or SUV.

Not only will you enjoy their head-turning exteriors and the first-class interiors, but the advanced innovations that exemplify GMC’s commitment to Professional Grade trucks and SUVs.
