SIX REASONS TO MAKE GMC YUKON PART OF YOUR HOLIDAY TRAVEL PLANS

SHARE:

Whether you want to go home for the holidays in premium comfort or face winter roads with confidence and control, the GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali have what you’re looking for.

As the pinnacle of full-size SUVs, Yukon brings six big advantages to your holiday travel plans with available advanced safety technologies, powerful capability, flexible storage, innovative technology, premium interior appointments and signature design.

Both Yukon and Yukon XL are available in the trims SLE, SLT Standard Edition, SLT and the iconic Denali. Regardless of which trim you opt for, each possesses the distinct characteristics and unmistakable identity Yukon embodies, and will bring a first-class experience to whatever your destination is this holiday season.

ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES
Driving during the holidays can be a challenging experience. Between winter storms and the increased number of motorists out on the road, unforeseen events can impact the safety of you and your passengers.

Yukon can help keep you aware and prepared for the unexpected with safety features designed to help drivers avoid a collision. Available on 2020 model year Yukon SLE and standard on 2020 model year Yukon SLT Standard Edition, Yukon SLT and Yukon Denali, the Enhanced Driver Alert Package includes a suite of active safety technologies like:

  • IntelliBeam headlamps: Automatically turns on and off the vehicle’s high-beam headlamps according to surrounding traffic conditions. The automatic high beams stay on until the system detects an approaching vehicle’s headlamps or detects a vehicle’s taillamps.
  • Forward Collision Alert: Can alert you when it detects a front-end collision is imminent with a vehicle ahead you are following. The system also can alert you if you are following a detected vehicle much too closely.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking: Can alert you when it detects a front-end collision is imminent with a vehicle ahead of you are following. It can help reduce the collision’s severity or avoid the collision by automatically applying hard emergency braking if you have not already, or by enhancing driver hard braking.
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning: Can help you avoid crashes due to unintentionally drifting out of your lane by providing gentle steering wheel turns when the system detects you are drifting out of your lane with no turn signal or steering activity. It can also provide Lane Departure Warning alerts when a lane marker is crossed.
  • Safety Alert Seat: Provides you the option of getting seat vibration pulses on the seat-bottom instead of beeps for crash avoidance alerts.

Another feature offered is Yukon Denali’s multicolor Head-Up Display, which may help drivers keep their eyes on the road by projecting important vehicle data onto the windshield.

Remember, safety or driver assistance features are no substitute for the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Visibility, weather and road conditions may affect feature performance. Read the vehicle's Owner's Manual for more important feature limitations and information.

POWERFUL CAPABILITY

When inclement weather hits, you want a vehicle that helps bring confidence and control to the driving experience.

That’s why GMC seizes every opportunity to incorporate advanced technologies and intelligent engineering to create capable vehicles that are ready for just about anything. And Yukon is no exception.

For example, when roads are wet or snowy, the automatic locking rear differential on Yukon and Yukon Denali will direct power to the rear wheel with the most traction to help give you confidence on slippery surfaces. The system automatically activates after detecting a difference in speed between the rear wheels and then transfers the additional torque to the wheel with the most grip.

Yukon’s powertrains are also engineered to take on a variety of road and weather conditions. The 5.3 EcoTec3 V8 engine (355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque) for Yukon and Yukon Denali’s available 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine (420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque) are not only capable, but offer exceptional performance.

And when the road ahead is far from perfect, Yukon Denali can give you a ride that is unmistakably premium thanks to the Magnetic Ride Control® suspension. This system reads the road surface up to 1,000 times a second to make quick and exact adjustments to dampening for a high level of handling and comfort.

FLEXIBLE STORAGE

Whether you need to stow gear for a winter adventure getaway or a pile of presents after a big shopping spree, Yukon offers ample cargo capacity, as well as smart storage solutions.

With second- and third-row seats folded into a flat load floor, Yukon can accommodate up to 94.7 cubic feet, while the Yukon XL offers 121.7 cubic feet of space. Access to cargo is made even easier with the available second-row bucket or bench power-release fold-and-tumble seats that are available for Yukon SLT and standard for Denali. The seats can accommodate a variety of cargo configurations as they fold and tumble at the push of a button.

Behind the 8-inch diagonal color touch screen with GMC Infotainment System there’s even a concealed storage area to keep smaller items out of sight.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Equipped with technology that is smart and easy to use, Yukon has intuitive features that enable seamless advanced connectivity and media entertainment.

The standard GMC Infotainment System is compatible with both Apple CarPlay®† and Android Auto™†, allowing you to access your smartphone and select apps through voice-activated commands. Its 8-inch diagonal touch screen also has select downloadable in-vehicle apps you can access. There’s even an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi® Hotspot, so passengers can email a quick season’s greetings, post photos from a ski trip on social media or pass the time by streaming their favorite holiday movie.

Charging a device while on the go is easier too, as Yukon has up to 14 charging locations. This includes up to seven USB ports and an available 110-volt power outlet. Yukon Denali also features an integrated available wireless charging pad atop the center console armrest that can charge select Qi/Powermat-compatible devices.

PREMIUM INTERIOR APPOINTMENTS

Whether your holiday travel plans include a simple trip across town or several hours on the highway, the level of comfort and refinement found in Yukon’s interior will deliver a first-class experience.

Its interior doors and instrument panel feature upscale materials like real aluminum accents, which are paired with soft-touch materials and French seam stitching. Yukon Denali dials up the refinement with authentic burnished aluminum trim, genuine Mastique Ash wood inlays and contrasting French seam stitching on the bucket seats, console and doors.

As for being warm and cozy when winter’s temperatures drop, Yukon allows you and your passengers to select the preferred level of heat via standard tri-zone automatic climate control. You can even augment this feature with heated front- and second-row outboard bucket seats, which are standard on Yukon SLT and Denali. There are also standard heated front row seats on Yukon SLT Standard Edition.

And if you’re planning a long trip and want to split time behind the driver’s wheel, Yukon has an available power-adjustable tilt/telescoping steering column and pedals, so each person can find the fit that’s right for them. The available Memory Seat function makes it even easier with its ability to store and recall seat, steering column and mirror settings.

SIGNATURE DESIGN

With its sculpted lines and bold stance, the visual aesthetic of Yukon and Yukon Denali will make a strong statement when you arrive to that holiday party, and a lasting impression long after you leave.

Its standout appearance and the attention paid to craftsmanship is illustrated in well-placed details like the distinct headlamps and taillamps featuring the GMC signature C-shape design. There are also premium wheel options, which include available 20-inch polished aluminum wheels and available 22-inch 6-spoke chrome multifeatured wheels.
With a signature appearance that is distinctly all its own, Yukon Denali takes its bold styling to another level with a multidimensional grille, chrome accents and available illuminated power-retractable assist steps.

So, if making an eye-catching entrance and exit wherever you go is what you want this holiday season, then be sure to put Yukon on your wish list.
