A WEEK WITH THE 2019 YUKON GRAPHITE PERFORMANCE EDITION

In Allison Fannin’s daily schedule, the constant moving of furniture, tools, and fabric samples – along with shuttling family and their own belongings – can be a challenge. Luckily, the new 2019 Yukon Graphite Performance Edition was up to the task.

In my daily schedule, the constant moving of furniture, tools, and fabric samples – along with shuttling our kids and their belongings – proves to be a never-ending challenge. Lately, my family’s vehicles feel as if they’re bursting at the seams! We purchased a Sierra Denali a while back and I am constantly begging to borrow it to haul items back and forth - but lately, I wondered if a full-size SUV could tackle everything on my to-do list.

I decided to test a 2019 Yukon for a week, as I wanted to see how it would accommodate our daily schedule and my work demands. My curiosity was piqued when I saw the new Yukon Graphite Edition. In the eye of this designer, they are gorgeous SUVs!

The Yukon Graphite Performance Edition I recently tested comes loaded with powerful looking and performing features. One of my favorites is the darkened exterior. Blacked-out 22" wheels, black assist steps with gloss black accents, premium black chrome grille insert and fog lamp surrounds, a body-color grille sorround and black roof rails. The Graphite Performance Edition also includes awesome features inside, including a head-up display, an 8-inch diagonal Driver Information Center, and a smooth ride, thanks to standard Magnetic Ride Control. And, of course, living up to the “Performance” mentioned in its name, it also incorporates a 420-horsepower 6.2L V-8 and a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Because my vehicle essentially doubles as my mobile office, I quickly fell in love with the updated GMC Infotainment System, which lets me easily find my next appointment or the nearest gas station. Phone calls placed with the hands-free Bluetooth connectivity were crystal clear, and it also read out incoming messages without me having to take my hands off the wheel. I also enjoyed the new apps within the system, especially the GMC Marketplace app, which can be used to order food, make reservations, and so much more.

The amount of available storage in the Yukon is amazing. I folded over the second-row seat to access all of my fabric samples and pillow cases that I had placed in the back seat. I was able to reach inside and sort through what I would need for my next appointment.

Thanks to the Power Release Fold-and Tumble second row seats, I merely had to push a quick-release button just inside the door, and the second-row seat effortlessly folded out of the way, letting me place belongings in the rear of the vehicle. I also love the ability to easily open the Yukon’s Hands-Free Power Programmable Rear Liftgate with either a simple touch of the remote key fob or kicking my foot underneath the rear bumper -it makes loading and unloading everything you can imagine so easy.

All in all, Yukon Graphite Performance Edition’s sophisticated style, modern connectivity, and all-around versatility made me – and my entire family – fall in love with this modern full-size SUV.
